Improve Your Email Marketing Results
Email is perhaps the most powerful advertising medium ever invented. Email marketing is proving to be a highly effective way to keep customers coming back for more. How does it work? Simply by keeping your customers up to date with your latest news, they will think of you first whenever they next need your product or service. The Immediasite system allows you to do this quickly and easily - you don't need any special computer skills - and track the results. Here’s a few tips on how to improve the results of your email marketing campaigns.
Spread the Word
Encourage your existing customers to tell others about your business – and offer them some kind of incentive for doing so (discount vouchers are always a favourite).
Persevere
There’s an oft-quoted marketing rule that goes something like this: your customers need to have heard of you 7 times before they even recognise your existence! And with the internet bombarding people with information, that figure has probably doubled. So it’s important to send out regular communications to your database. At the same time, you don’t want to overwhelm them either. Aim for a monthly communication to begin with.
Don’t be surprised if you don’t see results straight away. It will take time for the recipients of your emails to become accustomed to receiving your information.
Experiment with different messages, establish which method seems to work best, and continue doing more of the same.
Avoid a Sales Pitch
Think about your target audience and imagine what kind of information they’d like to receive – your emails should contain the things your customer wants to read. It shouldn't just be a thinly disguised sales pitch for your company. For example, if you sell lawn mowers, consider writing an article that discusses ways to keep your lawn healthy throughout the summer. Of course, you can mention that you sell lawn mowers, but play it down otherwise it will simply read like an advert.
Make Your Emails Easy to Read
Huge tracts of text will put people off. Either they won’t bother reading it at all, or they’ll ‘save it for later’ – which usually means the same thing. And remember, graphics, Flash animations, and colourful logos may look fantastic but unfortunately, they are also frequently blocked by email filters. Keep your emails simple, with short bursts of text linking to fuller stories on your website.
